Blogging Your Way To Riches!

Lots of people have blogs. But only a handful of these blogs put in profit in the owner’s pocket.

For some bloggers it’s by choice, simply because they don’t believe in commercializing a blog. But other bloggers started their blogs with the sole goal of making money.

They stocked it up with good content, posted some links… and then waited for the money to come in.

And they wait. And they WAIT.

Eventually hope turns to disappointment, and these bloggers abandon their blogs.

Listen, if this has ever happened to you, it’s NOT your fault – you just didn’t know the keys to setting up a profitable blog (which I’ll reveal to you in just a moment). Or maybe you’re getting set to start your first blog – in that case, you’re reading this report just in time!

Here’s how to get a profitable blog up and running fast…

1.   Get your domain name and hosting. This blog is important, so don’t put it on a third-party site (like blogger.com). Instead, go to NameCheap.com to get your own domain and then host it using a service like HostGator.com. That way you’re in full control of your own blog.

2.   Install your blog. If you’re using a host like HostGator.com, then just log into your control panel (also known as cPanel), scroll down to “Fantastico DeLuxe,” and follow the links and prompts to install a WordPress blog. If you don’t have this option, then go to WordPress.org to download and required files (it only take a few minutes).

3.   Create a stylish blog. For best results, use a theme other than the default theme. WordPress.org has a list of themes, or you can search for “WordPress theme” in Google to find something suitable.

4.   Stock it with content. Next, you need to upload at least half a dozen or so blog posts right away, just so that your blog looks busy. Then you need to commit to blogging regularly – at least once per week, but depending on the topic you may blog daily (or even multiple times per day).

Tip: Variety is key, so post different types of content such as “how to” posts, tips posts, promotional posts and even posts that are optimized for the search engines.

5.   Monetize the blog. There are plenty of ways to monetize your blog, including using AdSense, selling affiliate products, promoting your own products, selling ad space and more. The key is to find which method or methods are most profitable for you. You also need to figure out the best placements for your ads (e.g., in the side bar, embedded within the content, etc).

6.   Drive targeted traffic. Great content and good monetization strategies won’t put money in your pocket if no one is around to see your blog.

That’s why your final step is to drive targeted traffic.

You can do this any number of ways, including:

·         Doing co-promotions and guest blogging with other bloggers.

·         Swapping links with other bloggers.

·         Using article marketing.

·         Optimizing your content for the search engines.

·         Telling your contacts on social media sites (like Facebook.com).

That’s a good overview and it gives you a good place to start.
