Market Someone Else's Products!
A great way for you to make money online is by selling someone else’s products or services. You do this by becoming an affiliate, either for physical products or digital (downloadable) products.
There are plenty of advantages in using this method, including:
ü It’s quick. All you have to do is pick a market, pick a product and start selling it. You don’t have to spend weeks and months developing your own product.
ü It’s profitable. If you’re selling digital products, you can get as much as a 50% commission (or more) for every sale you make. That adds up quickly, especially if you’re selling products worth $50, $100 or even $1000 or more!
ü There are very few hassles. As mentioned, you don’t need to deal with product creation. You also don’t have to deal with fulfillment, shipping, payment collection, refunds or customer service inquiries. You just promote your affiliate links, pre-sell the customers, and pocket the cash!
Let’s quickly go over the steps involved in making money as an affiliate marketer…
1. Select a Niche. Plenty of aspiring affiliate marketers choose a product first, and that’s a mistake. Your first step is to find a hungry niche that’s actively seeking solutions to their problems.
2. Choose a Product. Once you find your hungry niche, your next step is to figure out what they’re already buying. Then you just find a relevant affiliate product to offer.
See how easy that is? It’s like stepping in front of a money train.
3. Build a List. Another common beginner mistake is to start promoting one’s affiliate link directly, such as by using pay per click marketing or other means.
But the problem is, you’ll never see these visitors again.
Probably somewhere close to 97%, 98% or more of these prospects will click off the vendor page without buying. And that means you won’t make even one penny in commissions… and you can bet you’ll never see these folks again.
The solution?
Build a mailing list by offering your prospects a free solution, such as a free report or ecourse, in exchange for their email addresses.
Example: If you’re selling products and information to people who want to whiten their teeth, you might create an ecourse called “7 Teeth-Whitening Secrets Your Dentist Doesn’t Want You to Know!”
4. Promote Your Link. Now that your prospects are on your mailing list, you can promote your affiliate link to your heart’s content. This starts by promoting the link in your initial autoresponder series.
Example: In continuing with the “tooth whitening” ecourse example: You’d provide a tooth-whitening tip in each of the seven lessons, but you’d also promote things like teeth-whitening kits.
Tip: Want to make more affiliate sales? Then add value to your offers. This means setting yourself apart from other affiliates by offering your customers an extra incentive to order from you. You may offer a cash incentive, such as a rebate. But the more common way to do it is by offering a bonus.
Example: If you’re an affiliate for barbeque grills and supplies, then you may offer a free BBQ cookbook to anyone who orders grills and supplies through your affiliate links.
